Hi, I’m Rachael, one half of a husband and wife team, passionate about the beautiful space that we have created for you to come and enjoy.
I love the countryside and live an active, outdoor focused life with my husband Richard, our gorgeous son Nolan, our dog Hattie and my two horses Megan and Dexter. I have long held a dream of creating a business connected to nature.
During the covid lockdowns we acquired some land next to my parent’s land. For the first year we enjoyed the space, walking the dog and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We turned it to grass and took a crop of hay from it which the horses very much enjoyed!
Having worked in the corporate industry for over 15 years, lockdown gave me time to reflect and re-evaluate and I decided that a new working life was in order. Together we decided to take the leap, and the idea of having some holiday lodges on the land with views of the White Horse and the Yorkshire Dales was born.
HOLLINS FARM HOLIDAYS
We have had a busy year since then, gaining planning permission, preparing the land and building the lodges. We now have two lodges ready for short or long breaks.
We have planning permission for another four lodges in total and we have lots of ideas for various activities we hope to offer as the business grows.
The lodges are set in beautiful countryside, ideally located in Arkendale, a small village between Harrogate and York. There are plenty of footpaths through the fields to the surrounding countryside, with a pub serving yummy food just 20 minutes’ walk away.
We are so excited about our new venture and looking forward to offering you a very warm welcome here at Hollins Farm Lodges!

The big Build
The last 2 years have been non-stop for us, from gaining planning permission, to preparing the ground, planting trees and setting up the lodges. It has been a labour of love with all of us getting involved in the build.
